About
Kairo Reef is a reggae project out of South Florida, started in August 2024 as a creative outlet and turned into a release schedule — ten singles in the year since.
The sound sits between two traditions: the roots and dancehall records that came out of Jamaica — Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy, Cocoa Tea, Triston Palma, The Meditations — and the Cali reggae that carried the sound to American beaches, with Sublime and Rebelution at the front of it.
Live, Kairo Reef has become a regular for Island Root Kava Bar's Up Close & Intimate series, supporting Jakobs Castle and Gabo Fayuca on their Florida runs. An album is in progress.
